Makers Manual is a collaborative project between exciting makers and STORE STORE. These downloadable manuals are a practical guide to making at home for beginners and experts.

In this manual you will learn a technique called: cyanotype. It’s a very fun and easy technique where you can photograph patterns in fabric or paper. With this manual you are going to make kitchen towels. You can use anything from your kitchen or home to make any pattern you like! For one towel I used round lids, for the other dried pepper, lemon, and Peruvian groundcherry. In the end you will have a homemade funky blue-white patterned kitchen towel. 

My name is Esmée Dros (she/her) and I am a graphic designer working in Rotterdam. In my practice I let fun and curiosity be my methodology. Its core is built around the three concepts of spaces, stages, and shapes. Besides my own practice, I also work as a designer, educator and tour-guide at the New Institute.
