Making Moving Models was an After School Club run by Thomas Smith and Unit Lab. During this ASC, the students designed and made a scale model of a nearby neighbourhood, and animated the model with moving electronic elements.
Across two sessions, the students were challenged to think of features that they would like to see in their built environment and brought these to life using model-making techniques such as fine paper cutting. The electronics programming was completed using Arduino, and taught students the basic principles of different types of movement.
The final model is being displayed in the STORE STORE window over the winter break.
Thank you to G.F Smith for providing the paper for these workshops.
