Waste City was an After School Club run by ReCollective. This ASC focussed on learning about how waste is processed, from the human to the urban scale.
Over four sessions, the students broke down existing elements of a waste system before sensitively constructing their own one from scratch. The design of this system, which includes a compost toilet, sink and bidet, was centred on natural building techniques and an understanding of the circular economy. The materials used to form the structure were repurposed, to give the students an understanding of design and construction using recycled materials.
This project was supported by the Ragdoll Foundation.
