What the Hand Holds was a free After School Club in May guided by ceramicist Gabriella Gormley. Together, students explored and deconstructed the humble handle, designing and crafting their own unique set of ceramic addendums for FLAWK’s buildings. The students used material and conceptual elements from the building site to design and make prototypes, which then were 3D scanned. Through hands-on techniques, from plaster mould making to press moulding with clay, we learnt how to craft plaster moulds and use them to produce a series of playful handles.

This was an opportunity for 15 state school students (age 14-18). This workshop. was in collaboration with FLAWK. The designs worked on by students will be featured FLAWK’s buildings.
