As part of the ‘Growing A Feast’ project, members of the STORE STORE community were sent seeds to grow various vegetables, plants, and herbs to contribute as ingredients for a celebratory feast to bring everyone together around a table. STORE students also took part in a series of workshops exploring the theme of food within design – from composting, bread making, and fermentation, to designing the tablecloth, making ceramic tableware, and dyeing napkins with food waste. The table at the feast during London Design Festival 2021 presented the learnings and outcomes from these workshops, and provided an exciting platform to explore the intersection of food and design; inviting conversation between students, designers, and guest speakers.
