Makers Manual is a collaborative project between exciting makers and STORE STORE. These downloadable manuals are a practical guide to making at home for beginners and experts.

The rope baskets are easy to make at home. It is a textile technique that doesn’t require any sewing machine or skills related to textiles. The idea for this Makers Manual is to create the textile AND the object at the same time. The mould around which the object is made can be as simple as a bucket. The rope could be thin cotton rope, technical polyester rope, colourful or plain, strong or fragile… Each object takes some time to produce, so plan some hours for making a piece.

This manual is created by craft designer Wendy Andreu who aims to communicate through the materials she is using. By experimenting with them, she finds surprising outcomes that can be translated into functional design proposals. In her research, the context has as much importance as the concept, without forgetting the quality of the making and the aesthetic of the pieces.
