Structural Engineer Manja van de Worp, Architect Matt Barnes from CAN Architects and Matt Gabe lead ‘Raising Roofs’ Summer School. Students designed and built a roof for STORE STORE Pavilion which can be fully disassembled and reassembled, using hand tools and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines.⁠ The workshops explored varied techniques for bracing and how natural timber forms can be used in structures.

STORE STORE Pavilion is part of a wider project, STORE BUILD, which is exploring the transformation of a garage site into education and workshop space. This build project is implementing a radical process of applied learning and participatory design with young people from the local community. ⁠
