Shelf to Stool was a hands-on After School Club, ran by Design Everything, to design, build and exhibit your own stools. Over the course of the club, students designed and make two stools, using wood repurposed from the shelving of Design Everything’s ‘A Seat at the Table’ travelling exhibition. Working with simple tools and jigs, students were introduced to practical joint construction and assembly to develop creative ideas into tested, workable designs.

Shelf to Stool was a free opportunity for 15 state school students (age 14-18). The workshop resulted in a series of finished stools that the students could keep after being displayed as part of a public exhibition at STORE STORE. This workshop was particularly useful course for students interested in design, architecture and sustainability.
