This workshop explores the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat and the Tower of Babel. In the first half of the workshop, the students designed, drew and painted individual cards, each forming one piece of a collectively made tower. The themes explored in the card designs came from Basquiat’s methodology of appropriating and marrying different media. In the second half of the workshop, the students worked together to create their own Tower of Babel, by connecting the individual cards together in a construction.
