Thursday to Sunday 10-4pm
Wax Lamps was a free After School Club, led by Baguette Studio. Students designed and made lighting objects out of natural wax. Using the technique of rotational moulding, students learnt how to create a hollow object able to diffuse light. They designed an object, and then created a mould using the vacuum forming technique, to finally produce their lighting objects. The workshop aimed to go through every stage of the making processes of an object – from idea to final prototype.
Wax Lamps was a free opportunity for 15 state school students (age 14-18) and was a particularly useful course for students interested in design, architecture and sustainability.
