Weaving Workshop guided by artist and designer Dalia James.
An introduction to contemporary hand weaving and a basic grounding in tapestry weaving techniques. The workshop encourages participants to experiment with colour and texture, and give you ideas for preparing your finished piece for display. No previous experience is necessary and the session includes everything you need, a tapestry frame loom, tools and yarns.
Dalia James is a London based artist and designer. She graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Woven Textiles (BA Hons) in 2012. As a handweaver, the connection between her and the cloth she creates is essential to her practice. Dalia’s work focuses on colour and geometry and explores the relationship between the two. Her artistic philosophy has been shaped by the writing’s of William Morris and Josef Albers and her work often references early 20th Century design and artistic movements.
The workshop works well for up to 15 participants, larger groups can also be accommodated. We can also arrange food and drinks.
